Freeze Branding Our Wagyu

Freeze Branding is a very good way to brand Cattle or Horses. The process is not painful to the animal and even easier to identify your animals from a distance.

For us freeze branding our Fullblood Wagyu cattle is an effective way to help us keep track of who is who. While keeping them happy and healthy.

Freeze branding works best on black hide animals because of the contrast.

Steps in Freeze Branding:

1. Into the chute. It is very important to have the animals still during this time.

Not worried just standing here looking around.

2. Shave, Clean and Sterilize area to be branded.

3. Place the brands on the hide, carefully for the right amount of time (approximately 30 sec each iron)

4. Wait patiently to see if the Cold Irons have taken effect. The hair will fall off the branded area in a few weeks and in a few more weeks white hair should grow in.
